Which Social Platforms Should you Focus on in 2021?

Today I wanted to write about where to place your efforts if you haven’t got any media to spend (advertising budget).

Like many companies in 2021, if you’ve drawn back your budgets or they are not as big as they were last year and you’re thinking how can we get that reach again with a limited budget?

Or maybe you are thinking, ‘organic reach is declining on a lot of older social media platforms, where should we go?!’

There are 2 places I’d recommend focussing your efforts.

First up...

LinkedIn

Linkedin as a professional networking site is vastly underused! If you can publish videos on LinkedIn, this is a really good way to share information and communicate with your clients exactly what you can do! I love the idea of sharing insights and knowledge, and really, giving away your best ideas. I always think that information is so easy to find, you can go on Google and find whatever you want, but actually, it is the implementation that’s difficult so, don’t worry about giving away ideas!

Start to communicate and tell stories around your business, your customers, your successes or even your failures, being honest and real works really well on Linkedin, especially in video form and the organic reach is impressive.

Whether your business is D2C or B2B, this platform will work for you. At the moment people are at home and definitely spending more time on these social platforms than ever before so invest time into producing content that people are really going to resonate with and that is super helpful!

Platform number 2 (and my favourite)...

Tiktok!

It’s amazing! There is so much organic reach available, so focus time on putting some investment into discovering how you are going to communicate as a brand, or a business or a personal brand on this fun platform.

For me, the first month on Tiktok was literally me trying different techniques out and just flinging myself out there even doing a couple of dances (realising I still can’t dance), and finding my feet and deciding what was going to work for us.

We found that what worked for us is communicating educational content in the form of short videos, telling people what we do or tips, tricks and hacks around social media and marketing.

For us, creating content on TikTok has worked really well, I would say for any brand or business, spend time on the platform! Get researching and jump in to see what content other businesses like you are posting and what’s trending and how other people show up on the platform. I’ve detailed exactly what we’ve been doing in this blog post here.

How to Create TikTok Videos?

Honestly? You’ve just got to get in, roll your sleeves up and DO IT and try it out! I guarantee you, that if you decide to post a piece of content on TikTok and on LinkedIn every day for 30 days, amazing things will happen, trust me!

I hope this helps and any other questions you have around those platforms I’m more than happy to share advice from my experience that we have had and client success stories too!

Remember, TikTok doesn’t need to be feared, make the most of this exciting new platform and enjoy the results. You can check out my blog all about TikTok here.

BIG love,
